Gite in Picardie, France - La Source Tranquille

Welcome to La Source Tranquille, our oasis of calm in Mouy, France. We are located just one hour from Paris and 90 minutes from the Cote d'Opale in the north of France, and we are perfectly central being just 25 minutes from Beauvais, Chantilly and Senlis. Whilst our gîte is beautifully quiet we are just 400m from the village centre with its shops and bakeries. Our fully furnished, two double-bedroomed Gîte sleeps 4 and is available for rent from two nights to longer term. Completed in 2011 the Gîte offers high-quality accommodation with everything you could need for your home from home. Features include:

The 2012 Tour de France (running from Saturday June 30th to Sunday July 22th 2012) will be made up of 1 prologue and 20 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,479 kilometres. It starts in Liege, Belgium but will pass through the Oise on Thursday 5th July. Just 45 minutes from La Source Tranquille the peleton will pass through the towns of Marseille-en-Beauvaisis, Crèvecoeur-le-Grand and Breteuil, taking around an hour to pass.

Un 4 épis deluxe

De l'espace, de la détente et de la paix. Voilà résumé ce nouveau 4 épis ouvert non loin de Beauvais.

Prisé des parisiens et des citadins en recherche de calme, ce nouveau gîte vous accueille à Mouy dans un cadre chaleureux et paisible. En arrivant, vous serez charmés. Ce n'est pas pour rien que les propriétaires lui ont donné le nom de "La Source tranquille". Non loin de représenter l'essence de cet hébergement, vous pourrez effectivement vous délecter près de la source qui traverse le grand jardin. Ici, on entend bien les oiseaux chanter, il y a de la place pour ranger ses vélos et même pour faire une partie de ping-pong.

Une fois entrés dans cet ensemble digne des maisons bourgeoises d'antan, vous accèderez au gîte. Le salon au rez-de-chaussée ainsi que la cuisine équipée sont dotés de tout le confort nécessaire, voire, plus que nécessaire. A l'étage, les chambres sont décorées avec goût et simplicité, les lits sont si confortables que vous pourriez y passer toutes vos journées. Ici, tout est fourni, linge y compris.

Elizabeth has taken the arts of growing, painting and cooking food and created her own niche in the world. La Source Tranquille has now been officially opened. Madame Le Maire of Mouy, Mrs Delafontaine, cut the ribbon at a small ceremony held in the sunshine in the garden of the gîte. A small gathering of friends and colleagues were there to witness the event, along with representatives of the Marie and of Le Parisien, the regional newspaper.

Having been inspected, and granted our 4 épis (4 ****) rating we are now available for bookings! You can click through the 'Book it' link on the left or go directly to the Gîte de France website by clicking here. At present you can only book online for one week stays starting on a Saturday. For other start days / durations you will need to book offline.

At long last our Gîte is ready! We have completed the decorating and the furnishings are now all in place. We are still awaiting a couple of paintings that we hope are going to come from a couple of local artists.

La Source Tranquille has been featured in the Sunday edition of Le Parisien in the Oise, making page 14 of the paper and being the first article in the Oise section of the online app! We're very proud to be doing what we're doing and hope to be able to live up to the billing the newspaper gave us. See the article here.
